In glorious weather SLYC members decamped en masse to Portaferry for the Narrows Series and Bar Buoy race over the Twelfth. An impressive 36 boats from the club competed in seven classes out of a total entry of 75 boats, winning five classes overall. The star performer, was Kenny Smith in the River Class winning all four races including the Bar Buoy. Our congratulations go to him and the other class winners from the club including, Mary Martin in the Sonata class, John and Heather Gilmore in a keenly contested Glen Class, Roger Chamberlain in an equally close Flying Fifteen class and if modesty permits myself in the YTCRS1 class in quite a small fleet. We will all look forward to next year but this year set a very high benchmark.
